Proof that the Lib Dems can't organise the proverbial...

A little earlier today we had an email from John Pugh MP promoting Sir Alan Beith's campaign for the speakership. Unfortunately instead of attaching his candidate's manifesto, he attached a list of Select Committee members, which I assume is their working list of supporters. John Bercow's name is crossed out twice, with the words "SUPER NO NO" added for emphasis! They have now sent round the proper document, with apologies.

Suggest it would be proper for MPs who have announced they will stand down not to vote on this.

They seem to have crossed out some of those names. But then again, John Pugh has also crossed out his own name, so who knows what it's all about!

Kerry your title's a bit rich isn't it? Labour cant even organise a Cabinet at the moment!!

Hi Glenn, can you just remind readers what you said on here about your prospects for winning Eastville?

I'm trying to recall what the actual result was... surely you weren't fourth, were you?

Thanks Kerry I'm actually quite pleased with the vote I achieved in Eastville: 14.2% this time (compared to 7% and 10% on the last two occasions Greens stood there). I'm not so well known in Eastville as in my home territory of Knowle of course. I expect to do better next yr against Knowle Cllr Gary Hopkins.

Cant recall what I said exactly about my prospects, but I think it was about how votes had not been cast yet and the future did not have to be the same as the past. This is not the same as claiming that I would win, much more an appeal to voters to think afresh.

No place in the Cabinet for you then Kerry?? According to Caroline Flint Mr Brown isn't that keen on appointing women to key positions so maybe you are fighting prejudice. Does not look like a Cabinet to lead great change to me anyway - half its members are doing the same job as before, there are very few new faces and all key jobs are the people who are part of past and current failures eg Alistair Darling.
