First Great Western cancelled more than 4,000 trains during the past year. As coincidence would have it - and before I saw this piece in the paper - I asked at Transport questions today when we're going to see electrification of the line, which would greatly improve reliability. The answer seems to be - soon.

In other words, The Hoon doesn't know the answer himself.
And pigs will fly...........
Kerry
The word "hoon" means something VERY rude in the blogosphere
Avoid
If you believe that...
The line to Bristol was quite high on the list for electrification in my days at British Railways. I left more than a quarter of a century ago.
Even funding for Crossrail (which would get the wires as far as Maidenhead), is looking increasingly problematical.
"Hoon says soon"
I don't understand. Do you mean you're going into labour?
I hesitate to use the word pathetic on this blog, but really....
Also good news re Portishead line - http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/news/track-reopen-Portishead-Bristol-rail-link/article-649004-detail/article.html
Just a bit of good old-fashioned puerile sniggering. Enjoy the sense of superiority it gives you.
In the disreputable sections of the blogosphere, members of the Government are commonly referred to by nicknames, and yes, it is childishly low wit. The Secretary of State for Transport’s has been unluckier with his moniker than most (and oddly it seems to be the only one he has). At the moment, Kerry, you are merely identified as part of the group known collectively as The Righteous.
All that said, your posting didn’t really appear to invite comment much. It could be summed up by: “Cabinet Minister gave vague answer to question on train unreliability.”
Ye-es.
