Arms control poseur

Another embarrassing story for Cameron in the Guardian. How can a company with a pre-tax profit of £21,000 in 2005 make a donation of £50,000 to the Tory Party that year, and then make another donation of the same size last year despite only declaring £20,000 in pre-tax profits? Under UK electoral law the Tories will have to demonstrate that this company is genuinely doing business in the UK, and not simply a device set up by its Dubai-based parent company, which had a turnover of £600m to allow it to make donations to the Tories. Oh, and minor point I'm sure: it's owned by a former arms dealer mate of Jonathan Aitken too.
