What is the point of George Osborne?
Friday's Guardian had a big splash on Philip Hammond, the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, and increasingly Shadow Chancellor in all but name. It's clear that if - note, if - the Conservatives form the next Government George Osborne will have very little to do except keep Cameron company in the No. 10 playpen. A tacit admission by Cameron that his mate just isn't up to the job.

What's the point in Alastair "you know it suddenly dawned on me when I saw the front page of the FT" Darling?
Far as I can tell from all the talk about a West Wing approach Osborne will be more Alastair Campbell than Alistair Darling...
On the Eton principle, he is Cameroon's fag.
