Rather a bizarre piece by Michael Gove in today's Times, telling readers how frequently he needs to use the toilet (about four times an hour at social gatherings, apparently). I can appreciate people's desire for more openness and transparency from their political representatives, but surely this is taking things just a little too far? Will Cameron now be forcing other members of his shadow Cabinet to follow suit?

Four times a hour sounds about right for my Friday night session. On a more serious note, is it an admisson that someone such as Michael Gove feels shy if not uncomfortable in strange company? There maybe hope for the rest of us. Last Wednesday was the monthly meeting in Westminster (not HoC) of an ideas forum and the previous one I had to get up and give a short speech on my group's aims and philosophies. Attendees include MPs, spin doctors, senior bloggers and pressure groups.
Four times per hour, try per minute.
does he have a large claim for toilet paper and soap? Guess we will find out on 18th
Transparency is healthy. We wouldn't want what Michael does in the toilet to be cloudy now would we.
I think you're being very unkind to Gove, suggesting he has a weak bladder. After all, he might just have a coke habit.
(BTW, referring to another post, I didn't like Breaking the Code; Brandreth's just too up himself. Anyone is welcome to my copy since I'll never read it again. This also means he won't get any more money)
Judging from his article he does have a coke habit - but not of the time you suggest. Doesn't sound very healthy though and not a good example to set to our young folk.
