Well said, Terry

Cllr Terry Cook calls for all-out elections in Bristol, once every four years. I agree. (In fact I've got a poll running on it on my 'proper' website at the moment - The elected mayor option seems to be winning at the moment 'though. Terry has also resurrected his rather fine blog. All councillors should have one! And he's on Twitter. All councillors should be on Twitter!

I see Terry doesn't have a Twitterfeed for his blog either.

Firstly thank you for your kind (but accurate) comments on my blog. I have just updated it with piece on the same subject. http://terryrobc.wordpress.com/2009/03/10/let-all-bristol-decide/

I don't think that all up elections and elected Mayors are mutually exclusive. I do think that the call for a Mayor is based more in a lack of confidence in local politicians. All up elections would give those politicians the chance to make a change rather than play the silly political games that they are currently addicted to.

I agree with Cllr Cook on elections every four yrs. The public are then likely to get the council they, as a whole, vote for. I note he gets support for this from a wide range of people eg Tony Benn and I think Cllr Peter Abrahams, as well as Kerry....
