Progress conference this Saturday

Progress are holding a 'Campaigning for the net generation' event in London this coming Saturday. I won't be able to make it - got the National Policy Forum and the South West Regional Conference on the same day - but it sounds good. The boss will be explaining why he's still not on Twitter, despite all my efforts to persuade him to give it a go, and there is the almost obligatory appearance by an Obama campaign guru.

Thanks- but like thousands of others on Saturday I will be at the Convention on Modern Liberty in London, local events being held in Bristol and Cardiff, with members of the Left,Right, Centre and Libertarian- on the damage that this Government have done to personal Liberty in this country since 1997.

Ahh, the egregious David Lammy will be there. Did you see him on Celebrity Mastermind? Not exactly Gail Trimble, is he? Literally, he's not even a Toyah Wilcox.

Of the many gems to chose from, my favourite was:

Humphrys: “What was the married name of the scientists Marie and Pierre who won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1903 for their research into radiation?”

Lammy: “Antoinette.”

“Let them eat Yellowcake!”
