Someone else's end of year poll

Iain Dale has been running an end of year poll on his website. The result for speech of the year* tells you all you need to know about his readership. No. 1. was George Osborne's PBR reply (25%). No. 2. was Obama's acceptance speech (18%).

In years to come I will be able to tell my little great-nieces and nephews as they gather round my knee that Great Aunt Kerry was in that very Chamber, on that momentuous occasion, to hear the great man himself. I will hold them spellbound as I recite passages from memory in my very best squeaky voice...

*That, and the fact that 45% voted for Frank Field as Labour MP of the year. And Bob Marshall-Andrews came second. I did a murder trial with Bob once. But that's another story.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to put this (no need to publish it anyway) but insomnia - drink water.

I've discovered only recently that my sleep is greatly affected by how dehydrated I am. If I can't sleep, I drink a pint of water. Half an hour later, I'm gone.

Try it!

you could also give them a laugh by telling them that you were present when "superman" saved the world, and ended boom & bust, and that the UK economy was uniquely well placed to come out of the recession, sorry global economic downturn that started in america.

How they will laugh!

Yellow by name... So you think Boy George deserved his accolade, do you?

Thanks Dave. Tonight I will be on the Benylin, as I have a cough. That should do the trick.

Kerry,

you might like to watch me get a kicking by Iain Dale, Devils Kitchen and on my own blog over the Palestinians.

In years to come I will be able to tell my little great-nieces and nephews as they gather round my knee, that they are still paying for the disastrous financial mess that Labour have put them in before they were born.

There's another poll you might want to link to. You are in it.

Freedom Poll

You'll be glad to know that I voted for you. :-)

Aunty Kerry may well be remembered for being in government when the great Ponzi scheme of Fiat currency collapsed.

Imagine a washing machine full of sick churning round, now that's the sort of effect a Kerry post has on a person's mind who is in touch with reality. 20 miles from you and the difference to your world and mine is like either side of the Israeli wall.
You should ask some very educated strangers who know their literature well to give you honest opinions on your writing style. Me I was ungraded at English CSE so I have an excuse but I do recognise nausea when it slaps me in the face. Do be honest with your self and talk with real people out side of your rose tinted bubble.

Yes I do, thanks.

What's with the "yellow by name bit"?

Hey Kerry, got anything to say about Israel attacking refugee camps?

So what would you nominate - Gordon Brown claiming to have "saved the World" ?

I hope your grandchildren enjoy the debt he has saddled them with, did they by any chance vote for him?

The Penguin

Tractor Stats. No-one is making you read this, so I suggest you go away and find something where you can say each word out loud and follow it with your finger as you go. Does Jeffrey Archer have a blog?

As to everyone else... the Boy George -v- Obama thing is too ridiculous to continue.

And Penguin I don't have grandchildren, and if I did they certainly wouldn't be old enough to vote. Bloody cheek!

Kerry, what's with the "yellow by name bit"?

I really can't remember... maybe I was saying you were too cowardly to use your real name, or maybe I was calling you a Lib Dem, or maybe it was an obscure reference to the very annoying Coldplay song. I thought the point you were making was pretty cheap. You could say that about my original post, but ID has one of the most read political blogs and he frequently conducts polls on there, so I was making the point that you can't really regard his polling as in any way scientific, given that his readers think Boy George's efforts were better than Obama's, which is patent nonsense.

P.S. Tractor Stats. I took my English O level a year early and got an A. So there.

Kerry, I have news for you. Bristol Dave, Old Holborn, Dick Puddlecote, Remember Remember, Tractor Stats, and The Penguin are not their real names either. so why single me out for your childish name calling?

At least I post using a unique name, unlike the NuLabour cowards who post elsewhere who all hide behind an "anonymous" tag.

Anyhow,

"I thought the point you were making was pretty cheap. Who said anything about a scientific poll, it was just a vox pop on a right wing(ish) blog.

Talking of cheap point scoring: "I will hold them spellbound as I recite passages from memory in my very best squeaky voice..."

"Boy George"

"yellow by name"

"Tractor Stats. No-one is making you read this, so I suggest you go away and find something where you can say each word out loud and follow it with your finger as you go. Does Jeffrey Archer have a blog?"

"And Penguin I don't have grandchildren, and if I did they certainly wouldn't be old enough to vote. Bloody cheek!"

Swearing at your bloggers and resorting to petty name calling, is this the best you can do?

Kerry said...

You are definitely a Lib Dem.

yellowbelly said...

Actually, I am an ABL.

Yes, Lord Archer has a blog and it's every bit as solipsistic as this one.

Mutley the Dog is a frequent, nay faithful, contributor.

I voted for you as well, but that's partly because Tom Harris has such crap musical taste - Greg Lake??!!
